Phuentsholing Primary School

overview

Phuentsholing Primary School was established in the 1960s, initially situated on the premises that house the Revenue and Customs office. The inaugural Head Teacher was Mr. K.D. Tshering.
In the 1991 academic session, the school relocated to its present site, which was previously utilized by the Department of Revenue and Customs. This exchange of premises was implemented as an interim measure. The primary motivation for this relocation was the school’s proximity to the Indian border, which, during a period of political unrest in southern Bhutan, rendered the original location unsafe for educational activities.
