Sonamgang Primary School

Sonamgang Middle Secondary School, was established in 2013 as a lower secondary school to address the admission pressures faced by three other public schools in Phuentsholing Thromde. In 2015, the school was elevated to the status of a Middle Secondary School. Following its establishment, more than 1,000 students and 35 teachers transitioned from Phuentsholing Lower Secondary School to Sonamgang Middle Secondary School during the mid-academic session of 2013.
The school received its name from His Holiness Trulku Jigme Choeda, the 70th Je Khenpo of Bhutan.
It is beautifully positioned on a gentle slope that overlooks Phuentsholing town, bordered to the North-East by the Phuentsholing General Hospital and to the South-West by the Food Corporation of Bhutan. The school is located approximately 1.5 kilometers from the gateway to Bhutan, Phuentsholing, and encompasses an area of 3.46 acres.
