Advisory on Rainfall, Landslide, and Flood Alert

This is to inform the general public that, as per the National Centre for Hydrology and Meteorology (NCHM), Light to Moderate has been forecasted over the southern region, including Phuentsholing Thromde and nearby areas, which may result in landslides, flash floods, and swollen river levels.

In view of the above, Phuentsholing Thromde would like to urge all residents to exercise utmost caution and adhere to the following safety measures:

  1. Stay in higher and safer areas during periods of heavy rainfall.
  2. Avoid going near rivers, streams, or drains, as water levels may rise suddenly.
  3. Do not allow children to play or go near riverbanks or water channels.
  4. Refrain from travelling, especially through hilly or landslide-prone routes, unless absolutely necessary.
  5. Remain alert and follow updates or advisories issued by the NCHM, Phuentsholing Thromde, and local authorities.
